About training Smithing Smithing is a buyable skill: you smelt ore into bars at a furnace, then hammer those bars into gear, ammo, or minigame swords. The go-to fast route is feeding gold ore through the Blast Furnace while wearing Goldsmith gauntlets for the highest raw XP, whereas the Giants' Foundry minigame trades some raw speed for far less frantic clicking. Almost everyone skips the painful early levels with a batch of Smithing-reward quests rather than grinding them.
