Vet'ion OSRS: DPS, Risk and Profit Decisions

Vet'ion is a two-phase Wilderness boss where crush accuracy, interruption risk and what you are willing to lose matter more than a theoretical max-hit setup.

Use DPS as a floor, not the whole encounter

The calculator models direct damage against one 255-HP phase. Double that baseline, then add hellhound, transition, looting and PK interruption time before estimating kills per hour.

Hitpoints 255 + 255 Normal and enraged phases
Best defence -10 crush Much lower than stab or slash
Attribute Undead Weapon effects can change the comparison
Primary risk Multi-combat Wilderness Interrupted trips lower real kills per hour

What actually determines your Vet'ion result

Vet'ion's crush defence is dramatically lower than his stab and slash defence, so the correct attack type usually beats a superficially stronger weapon. The target is also undead, which makes target attributes relevant when comparing specialised weapons.

The Wiki money-making model uses an uninterrupted high-end kill rate. That is useful as a ceiling, but your banked profit is controlled by escape frequency, replacement supplies, deaths and how quickly you finish both phases.

  • Compare crush loadouts against the Normal version first.
  • Keep risk value separate from expensive items protected on death.
  • Treat every bank or escape as encounter overhead, not zero-time downtime.

Vet'ion or Calvar'ion?

The multi-combat version rewards players who can absorb interruption risk and organise escapes. Calvar'ion is the more controlled alternative when consistent solo trips matter more than the best theoretical table. The right choice depends on your interruption rate, not only the listed loot value.
