Demonic Gorillas OSRS: Switch-Aware DPS and Profit

Demonic gorillas are a two-style problem, not a single-loadout DPS test. Your result depends on both switch sets, time lost changing gear and a drop table dominated by zenyte shards.

Compare two loadouts

Put your melee set in Loadout 1 and ranged set in Loadout 2. The slower side is often the real bottleneck because protection prayers force you to keep switching damage styles.

Why one DPS number is misleading

Demonic gorillas change protection prayers after taking enough damage, so a complete setup needs viable damage in more than one style. A very strong melee set cannot compensate for a ranged switch that repeatedly stalls the kill.

The calculator recognises the demon attribute, allowing supported demonbane weapon effects to enter the comparison. It does not add your manual switch delay, missed attacks, movement or incoming-style reaction time.

  • Compare both styles at the same stats and prayer assumptions.
  • Prefer a smaller, reliable switch when extra items slow every prayer change.
  • Judge profit over a long sample because zenyte shards supply most of the upside.

The useful metric: blended encounter time

Estimate how much of the health bar each style normally handles, combine both calculated times, then add a switch allowance. This produces a more honest baseline than quoting the higher of the two DPS values.
