OSRS Smithing Boosts: Can You Reach the Level?
Smithing has reliable boosts from +1 to +4 and a random spicy-stew route up to +5. Visible boosts do not stack, so the best single active boost determines your reachable level.
Reliable beats possible
If +4 reaches the requirement, Kovac's grog is deterministic. Only plan around +5 when retrying spicy stew is acceptable and the activity itself allows boosting.
Can I boost it?
This checks level reachability only. Confirm the activity accepts temporary boosts before committing supplies.
Available Smithing boosts
A dwarven stout gives +1, mature dwarven stout gives +2, Kovac's grog gives +4, and orange-spice stew can roll from -5 to +5. The Smithing cape can also provide +1 at level 99.
Temporary visible boosts normally decay by one level per minute on the shared non-combat boost cycle. Preserve extends the cycle, but does not make an unboostable requirement boostable.
Check the requirement before buying supplies
Some requirements use base levels and ignore temporary boosts. Confirm that the target action is boostable, then use the planner on this page to find the smallest reliable option.
