Cerberus OSRS: DPS, Ghost Thresholds and Real Profit
Cerberus profitability is unusually sensitive to kill duration: crossing a special-attack threshold can add prayer drain, while rare crystals make short-run gp per hour unreliable.
A threshold can be worth more than average DPS
An upgrade that consistently removes a second ghost sequence may save more prayer and time than its small DPS percentage suggests. Test your exact setup instead of using a max-gear kill rate.
DPS and supply cost are connected
Cerberus' summoned souls can drain large amounts of Prayer even when correctly protected against. Faster kills can reduce the number of sequences seen, while a spectral spirit shield changes the supply equation without necessarily winning the raw DPS comparison.
The Wiki's money-making estimates explicitly vary by weapon and assume a specific kills-per-hour rate. Use your calculated time-to-kill, then add respawn, looting and travel before applying any average loot figure.
Separate baseline loot from crystal luck
Primordial, pegasian and eternal crystals create much of the long-run value and each can produce long dry stretches. Track baseline loot and unique value separately so a lucky hour does not become your expected hourly rate.
